Starting Today, McDonald’s will be randomly selecting people as they order to take “Lovin'” as payment.
According to their Super Bowl Ad, “Lovin'” seems to be some small gesture or act of kindness. Some of the examples were giving a complement, high fiving a cashier, or calling a friend and telling them you love them.
The ad says: “From selfies, hugs to high fives – we have a bunch of fun ways to express your Lovin’.”
This actually is a contest, with offical rules. The customers will be chosen from random between February 2 and February 14, 2015. 100 free meals will be given to each McDonald’s location over the course of the promotion.
Someone who might need some extra lovin’ is McDonald’s CEO Don Thompson is stepping down as CEO after continued declining sales. Hopefully his severence package will be in more than just selfies and high fives.
Since I normally just order from the dollar menu (dollar menu and more?) menu, I would probably rather pay the money, but kudos for trying to make the world a little more “lovin'”.
